Taking a taxi cab between the Rio de Janeiro International Airports and Rio de Janeiro cruise ship terminal is one of your best and safest options, but it's important to go to the Rio de Janeiro State Tourism Authority for travel vouchers for prepaid taxis, and radio taxis are far more reasonable than yellow taxis. Travel vouchers cost 70 real. Prepaid taxis are roughly 40% less expensive and far less complicated (USD rates for prepay should be between 29 and 35).

On average, cruise line transfers between the Rio de Janeiro Airport and Rio de Janeiro cruise terminal are also a cost efficient and safe means of transportation. A benefit of cruise line transfers is that they watch your flight for delays. Within reason, they may delay the departure of the ship if your flight is late.

For the most part, however, this is the least recommended mode of transportation in Rio de Janeiro. Traffic in this city is quite hazardous!

A chauffeur-driven town car between Rio de Janeiro Cruise Ship Terminal and Rio de Janeiro International Airport is the most stress-free option, though probably the most expensive. This will average about 25 USD an hour. You do ride in a nicer vehicle and don't have to bother with waiting for other people to board. For 4 people going between the airport and cruise ship terminal, this can be as economical as the taxi option. Minivans are available for an additional charge for up to 6 people, and vans for 16 are also an option.
